| Adam Feiler, SFS 2009 | President |
|---|
Adam Feiler (SFS '09) is the President of the College Dems. He hails from the great state of New Jersey, home of the Shore, No Self-Serve Gas, Diners, the Mafia, and the Turnpike. He is majoring in International Politics and obtaining a certificate in Arab Studies, because the SFS promised him that he would be Safe From Science. He has worked for Congressman Rush Holt (who is actually a rocket scientist) , the Democrat National Committee, Senator Evan Bayh, Governor Jon Corzine , and Senator Obama's Presidential Campaign. In one year, he hopes to figure out what he is doing with his life. Adam's issues: electing Barack Obama president, US policy in the Islamic World, and providing a world-class education in the United States to all kids |
| Matt Hardin, COL 2010 | Vice President |
|---|
Matt was born and raised in Des Moines, Iowa. He is exuberantly (some would say excessively) proud of the Hawkeye State. He left the heartland to come to Georgetown out of an obsession cultivated by the 2004 election, where he volunteered for the ill-fated Kerry-Edwards campaign. Matt continued in politics writing articles for the Des Moines Register ("The Newspaper Iowa Depends On") and canvassing for the Iowa Democratic Party for the glorious 2006 mid-term elections. At Georgetown, Matt was the Deputy Field Director before becoming Chief of Staff and then Vice President. Matt's issues: energy/environment, education, national service, preserving the Iowa Caucus and the shameless worship of ethanol that accompanies it |
| Ryan Guptill, COL 2010 | Treasurer |
|---|
Ryan Guptill (COL 10) is a lifelong Democrat hailing from the San Francisco Bay Area on the Left Coast. Before coming to Georgetown, he worked on numerous Democratic and school bond campaigns in California, as well as serving on the Contra Costa Countywide Youth Commission. Recently, he interned for the campaign of Congressman Jim Moran (D-VA-08) as well as serving as Deputy Internship Director and Co-Director of Research and Debates for GUCD. After a hard fought campaign in 2006, Ryan did what many DC veterans do - he sold out and went to work as a lobbyist. As an intern in Government Relations Department of the National Sleep Foundation, Ryan pushed Big Sleeps agenda on Capitol Hill and in the states. When hes not talking politics or navigating the treacherous waters of University bureaucracy, Ryan competes with Georgetowns award winning Mock Trial team, enjoys playing soccer and wandering the National Gallery, and, occasionally, goes to class. Ryan's issues: Civil liberties, criminal justice reform, intelligent foreign policy |
| Chris Dodge, SFS 2010 | Communications |
|---|
Chris Dodge is a sophomore in the SFS, majoring in International Politics and seeking a certificate in Social and Political Thought. A proud resident of Massachusetts, Chris is an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan and, when not discussing politics, likes to talk about the impending supremacy of Boston sports teams. Chris first got involved in politics in 2002, making phone calls in New Hampshire for Jeanne Shaheen. In 2004, Chris founded a Students for Kerry group at his high school and braved many cold New Hampshire winter nights knocking on doors for Senator Kerry. Since coming to Georgetown, he has worked for the Keeping America's Promise PAC and served 1.5 years on the GUCD Comm Staff in various roles. Chris loves to travel, read, and ski. His long term goals include installing Senator Ted Kennedy as President and Congressman Barney Frank as VP, playing Shortstop for the Red Sox, and having three pet penguins named Webster, Clay, and Calhoun. Chris's issues: Health Care, the War in Iraq, Gay Marriage, Civil Liberties |
| Julie Alcarez, MSB 2010 | Events Director |
|---|
Julie Alcarez is a sophomore in the McDonough School of Business, a Finance and International Business major (and English minor) who hails from Connecticut. A vegetarian who loves the Boston Red Sox, Julie spends a lot of time talking about the sub-prime mortgage lending crisis, running up the Lincoln Monument steps, and listening to NPR. She has spent the better part of a year interning for Morgan Stanley here in Washington, DC, but plans to become a barista in the near future. Her interests include Law & Order, microfinance, metaphors, The New York Times Food & Dining section, and bringing back the Whalers. Julie's issues: education, a woman's right to choose, corporate social responsibility |
| Caitie Boland, COL 2010 | Membership Director |
|---|
Caitie traveled 2,000 miles from her home state of Montana to major in Government in the College. She liked the big city so much that she's back for her sophomore year. In highschool, Caitie worked on many campaigns for Montana candidates (three cheers for her new Senator Jon Tester) and she can't wait to see what this Democratic Congress will accomplish (bring it on, Mitch McConnell). Growing up in the Big Sky State gave Caitie a true passion for nature and preserving the environment. In truth (and a slightly inconvenient one), Caitie would vote for Al Gore if he decided to run in 2008. Caitie loves the West Wing, Senator Barbara Boxer, horse-back riding, and Irish music; and she loves to hate Ann Coulter, Fox News, the NRA, and the neo-cons. Caitie's issues: the environment, education, civil liberties, cleaning up corruption |
| Alexa Rozelle, MSB 2011 | Freshman Representative |
|---|

She also lives down the street from Governor Matt Blunt, and is constantly planning, yet never carrying out, attempts to steal his lawn furniture. Ali is majoring in International Politics and plans to obtain a certificate in African Studies. At Georgetown, in addition to her duties as Freshman Representative to the E-board, Ali is the Missouri State Chair for GAAP. She is also involved in STAND (Students Taking Action Now: Darfur), Hoya Blue, and was selected as a member of Georgetown's Leadership and Beyond Program. Ali is a rabid Hoyas basketball fan and loves Leo's ice cream, country music, running along the Potomac, and reading foreign policy/international affairs publications. Alexa's issues: U.S. foreign policy, campaigns, a woman's right to choose |
